Coastal Cleanup proposed by Alan Gastelum, a local artist. All are welcome to join!
DATE /TIME – Friday, March 23, 2012 / 11am-2pm
GOALS – Join Partnerships for Parks and the New School Program for Public Engagement for a Coastal Cleanup in Manhattan’s East River Park. We need help removing debris and garbage that travels along the East River and collects in the waterfront embayment areas. Volunteers will clean up the craggy waterfront edge, bagging all garbage for removal. The project was proposed by Alan Gastelum, a local artist whose recent photo exhibition documented the accumulation of waterborne debris in the park. Alan plans to participate and photo-document the cleanup as part of his ongoing art project. His work can be seen here:

LOCATION - We will meet at the Trackhouse Building, located near the E. 6th Street footbridge, in front of the track.
